Help bring a little comfort home for a migrant worker.
After a long day spent under the hot sun, climbing scaffolding, carrying heavy loads, or working on construction sites across Singapore, many migrant workers return to their dormitories to take care of life’s everyday necessities. Something as simple as a working washing machine can make a meaningful difference. It means clean clothes for the next workday, less time spent on chores, and a little more time to rest.
We are looking for clean, fully functioning washing machines that are less than 8 years old.
Over the years, we have seen the joy on workers’ faces when they are able to collect an appliance that helps make daily life a little easier. We have also occasionally encountered situations where we were assured that an appliance was fully working, only for the worker to discover after bringing it back to the dormitory that it was not functioning at all.
As many workers travel across Singapore in their precious time off to collect these items, we kindly ask that machines are tested in the days leading up to the donation, or on the day they are being given away. If you discover any issues, please let us know before a worker makes the trip down.
