🚲 URGENT APPEAL: We need bike repair volunteers!
We have a “good problem”: lots of donated and rescued bicycles coming our way!
But with too few volunteers to help repair them, the bikes are piling up in storage and we’re running out of space. More importantly, these bicycles are unable to reach migrant workers who need them for their daily commutes.
We’re looking for volunteers with bike repair knowledge to help us on an ad-hoc or regular basis with:
🔧 Punctures, tyres, inner tubes & rims
⛓️ Chains, gears & cables
🛑 Brakes, pads, discs & cables
⚙️ Bearings, hubs, headsets, pedals & bottom brackets
Bike repair knowledge is a MUST. Volunteers must also be willing to travel to Sembawang and Woodlands, where the bikes are stored. IRR will cover replacement parts and shared repair tools for volunteers.
🚲 Are you a bike shop? If you can take in larger quantities of bicycles collected from condos and town councils and repair them at your own location, we’d love to hear from you too!
Your skills can help give an old bicycle a new lease of life, and make daily commutes a little easier for migrant workers. 💪
