IPS is pleased to present its first S R Nathan Fellowship Young Leaders Seminar, entitled “Shaping Singapore’s Climate Future: Achieving NDCs with the Use of Carbon Markets”, on 24 February 2025.
As a resource-constrained and alternative energy-disadvantaged city-state, Singapore must rely on international cooperation to help it make up the residual emissions reduction required to realise its climate ambitions. One such means is the use of international carbon markets. This keynote will explore how Singapore’s bilateral cooperation with other countries can help unlock more green growth opportunities for carbon services and trading, and highlight how research can help address challenges such as ensuring environmental integrity and avoidance of double counting.
Ms Melissa Low is the keynote speaker of the seminar. Ms Kong Man Jing, Co-founder of Just Keep Thinking will be moderating this seminar with panellists Mr Rueban Manokara, Global Lead, Carbon Finance and Markets Taskforce of World Wide Fund for Nature – International (WWF), and Mr Ho Xiang Tian, Co-Founder of LepakInSG.
